The Great Apple Debacle

Today I jousted horseless.

And pantless!

Later I put on pants and had a snack. It was an apple.

The apple.
Which led to what you and Mama now refer to as "The Apple Debacle." After nibbling on said apple, it was dinnertime so I sat in my highchair and dined as normal. But then you guys realized the apple was MIA. It was fun watching you look everywhere. You checked all my toy baskets, purses, and bags, underneath the fridge, the oven, the couch, and the bed, behind doors, bookcases, and boxes. I can't even open the oven but you checked in there at least twice. I mean you really tore the place apart for close to an hour while I sat and enjoyed my dinner. I could see the panic and perplexity rising the whole time. What if you couldn't find the apple? Had I eaten the entire thing, seeds, stem, and all?? It was amusing.

Anyway, as soon as I was done eating and got out of my highchair, Mama asked me where the apple was. It was about time you thought to just ask me. So I walked over the the side of the couch and tapped the bottom. Duh. It was right there.

Needless to say, my dessert apple never tasted so sweet.

Best apple ever.

*Note from Mama: we checked under the couch numerous times, but we looked from the front, not the side. The apple was situated where it was blocked from view from the front, but easily seen from the side. Also, we are nincompoops.

Actually a Pretty Nice Little Saturday

Do I look like I'm enjoying being at Home Depot with you and Mama?

Just pick a freaking refrigerator.
Because really, why would you bring a baby here? I don't even have any Goldfish and/or Animal crackers to munch on. You're killing me.

Ok, well this is a little bit more interesting:

I'm not allowed to do this at home!

Side note to Home Depot: I appreciate your Halloween entertainment efforts...

But I have scarier relatives.

Party In My Crib

Sometimes when I wake up from a nap Mama let's me stay in my crib and play a little bit. I'm not sure exactly what Mama was doing today because after-nap playtime was off the hook.

Yeah, you see all the stuff in my crib? And all the empty/tipped over baskets? I did that. It turns out I can now reach all the things that are on the side of my crib. The baskets, the truck, the ball, the stuffed animals - pretty much everything that's over there is now fair game. I played in my crib for like an hour after I woke up!

When Mama came in to get me I had to signal to her so she would know where I was.
Here I am!
*Note from Mama: Don't worry, I was supervising everything via her monitor. And I was able to actually unpack everything from our recent trip without a little monkey climbing in a suitcase or opening a drawer and pulling out everything I just put away. Woot!

Fun to Wear

So I'm back in NYC. It's good to be home!

I spent the morning reacquainting myself with Mama's underwear drawer.

I'm not really sure why it's called underwear.

These are fabulous accessories!

Playground Review: Out of Town Edition

So naturally I have to check out the closest playground when I'm away from home. A baby's got priorities.

This one was pretty good. It didn't have asphalt or fake grass on the ground like I'm used to, but some kind of dirt and wood chip mix which was new and interesting. And delicious! It's too bad Mama missed the shot of me putting an entire handful of the dirt and wood chip medley into my mouth. Yep, a whole handful right in there. Mama was pulling out pieces of debris for quite a while after that. She's really got to work on her speed.

The playground had a wiggly bridge, which I've encountered at home but still haven't quite mastered.

And a cool double slide. Racing down with you was fun, Daddy!

I totally win.
There was also a spiral slide. I've never gone down a spiral slide this big so it was nice to ride down on your lap, Daddy.

Whee!
Then, of course, I had to do it by myself. Backwards.

Where'd everybody go?

My 3 most important criteria for playground rating are ground material, slides, and extras. Let's see how this playground stacks up:

1. Ground material: dirt and wood chip blend = delicious.
2. Slides: double and spiral = awesome.
3. Extras: wiggly bridge, swings (not pictured), see-saw (also not pictured), bench = niiiice.

The bench.

So, based on my criteria I'd rate this playground 4 goldfish crackers.

I'd go back. Also, I'd like a snack.

I Went to the Animal Fair

It was a little disconcerting waking up in a strange room today, but then I remembered that you and Mama said we would be visiting relatives up north. Also, Bunny and Monkey were there so all was well.
Bunny and Monkey love

I know that I'm new to the family and still learning about all our customs and traditions, but I didn't expect to be breaking any child labor laws today.

Can I stop now?
Anyway, for basically cleaning the entire house I was promised a petting zoo. The "zoo" consisted entirely of goats and they were very nice. I fed them pellets out of my hand and still have all 10 fingers!

Here I am feeding a goat!

And here I am feeding two goats!

Here I am petting a goat.

And here I am slapping a goat!

Here's a goat kissing my hand Godfather-style.

And here's a goat giving me hoof and mouth disease.

Here are the goats pining for me after I left.
Come back, Sadiegoose!

Here's video capturing my foray into the wild:

Notice how the video ends after I try to eat the goat food. You and Mama are such control freaks.

After the goats I also saw a pig,

and horses!

Actually, I mainly saw horse butts because they were all in their stalls eating hay, snorting, and stomping their feet. I love horses!!

Overall, it was a great day of doing chores, feeding goats, and visiting pig pens and horse stalls. Even though I'm a city baby I think that I might have just a little bit of a farm girl in me!
