Guns Blazing

Yesterday you and Mama sent me off to Grandma's house so you could go to some fancy party. It's about time you two got out. I am one year old (many times over) after all!

I knew that Grandma has some cool toys for me, so I just packed the basics: Binky. Necklace. Laptop.

Good to go.

Grandma and I had some wild adventures together, as evidenced by the disappearance of one of my shoes.

I'm pretty sure you and Mama had fun, too. Here's a photo of you at the party, Daddy:

Stepchild

Sometimes in order to get something done you have to do it yourself, even if you're a baby. So here I am on a stepladder in the living room trying to change a light bulb.

Could you at least hand me the light bulb??  Sheesh.

Little Drummer Girl

My next door neighbor, Bill, gives saxophone lessons so I get to hear a lot of practice sessions. I decided that Bill could use a little drum accompaniment, because you can really never have too much noise.

 Before I got started, I had to first greet the drumsticks.

*Note from Mama: Sadie has had kiwi before and loved it. In fact, she ate an entire kiwi in one sitting. This is clearly an act. 

Not Having a Ball

It's Monday so I decided to try sitting in the toy basket again.

Still meh.

Sticks and Stones

Below are two photos. I want you to look at the first one and then immediately, as fast as you possibly can, without even thinking about it, look at the second one.

Because that's pretty much how fast I move from finding a delicious stick (or rock/dirt/leaf/random discarded food/unidentifiable filthy thing) to putting it in my mouth. They're all so irresistible!! Mama is quick, though, and the delectable item is usually confiscated before the second photo. Usually.

And then I'm left to sit and contemplate what I've done.

That was delicious.

Road Blog

Today I'm 13 months old!

Yo Baby

Today I had Pinkberry in my carrier with Mama. 

Perhaps Mama needs to work on capturing the photographic essence of the moment, because despite the completely lacking reaction in the photos, I loved it.

Box Me In

I finally put together the kitchen that Uncle Alex sent me for my first birthday! It's super tricked out with double oven, light-up stove tops, cordless phone, refrigerator with built-in water dispenser, and massive storage space.

This Just In

Today was just kind of blah until a CAR EXPLODED ACROSS THE STREET FROM ME!!! Mama was pushing me in my stroller, and we saw the smoking car right across the street, which turned into a car in flames, which made Mama run like the dickens. Which was good because then it exploded very loudly and scared me (just a little). We circled the block and have some ace photo-journalistic coverage for you:

You can kinda, sorta see the car. But see all the smoke? And firetrucks? And people looking from afar? It sure is exciting being an urban baby.

Stick a Fork In It

I'm learning how to eat with a fork! It's hard work that isn't always rewarding.

So close! If only I had food on the fork.

Hmm, this doesn't seem quite right.

Forget the fork, this is quicker.

Get in, I'm starving!

Play Dirt

You know the playground that I tyrannize that has artificial grass? It doesn't have artificial dirt.

This is the only photo of me playing in the dirt because after this Mama spent the rest of my playground time trying to keep me away from FUN.

Also, it's delicious.

Potty Hat

So I mentioned before that Mama got me this thing called a potty. She keeps telling me it's not for climbing and it's not a toy.

It's not a toy.

Toddlers, Come Out To Play

Here are some things that I do when I go the playground:

Go up the slide, natch,

make music,

play with cool things that aren't mine,

move furniture, 

 

 play with trucks, also not mine,

go down the slide (sometimes),

and make friends.
